Cape Cod Five Foundation's Total Donations in 2008: $647,400

The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust held its Annual Meeting at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. It was reported that in 2008, Foundation grants were awarded to 112 Cape Cod non-profit organizations. In addition, the Foundation awarded educational mini-grants to 75 Barnstable County teachers representing 36 schools, and laptop computer scholarships to 13 college-bound High School Seniors. The total amount contributed by the Foundation in 2008 for the benefit of the Cape Cod community was $647,400.
As expressed by Dorothy Savarese, Chairman of the Foundation, "we praise these grant recipients for their excellent contribution to our quality of life here on Cape Cod. We also congratulate them for submitting their thoughtful requests which increasingly addressed growing needs as economic challenges intensified during the year."
The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust is its namesake Bank's primary vehicle for providing financial support to community organizations. It fulfills the Bank's underlying philosophy based on the premise that doing business on Cape Cod and serving the community are inseparable.
