Orleans, MA – The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank through its Charitable Foundation will once again be supporting the Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. The seven-day Walk, which runs from July 10 to July 16, was started by the late Bob Murray and since its inception has raised more than $4.7 million for nonprofit agencies that provide housing and services for local families and to raise awareness for the need of affordable housing on Cape Cod.

“Affordable housing is an important element in our region because it significantly impacts residents and businesses alike,” said Dorothy A. Savarese, President and CEO of Cape Cod Five. “We are pleased to help continue Bob Murray’s mission of advocating for housing in our community by supporting this multi-organizational initiative.”

This year’s Housing with Love Walk begins Monday, July 10, 2017 in Provincetown and ends on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Falmouth. The Walk spans the entire length of Cape Cod for a total of 100.2 miles. Cape Cod Five has been a supporter of and participant in the Walk every year.

Funds raised from this event will benefit nine local agencies: CHAMP Homes, Chatham Ecumenical Council for the Homeless, Community Development Partnership, Falmouth Homeless Prevention Program, Harwich Ecumenical Council for the Homeless, Homeless Not Hopeless, Inc., Housing Assistance Corporation, Homeless Prevention Council and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
