Cape Cod 5 recognizes that our customers expect privacy and security for their personal and financial affairs. We understand the need to safeguard the sensitive information that our customers have entrusted to us. We maintain standards and procedures designed to protect misuse of this information.

Use, Collection, Sharing and Retention of Information

Cape Cod 5 will collect, retain, share and use information about our customers only when the Bank believes it will help administer our business or provide products, services and other opportunities to customers. The Bank will collect and retain information about customers only for specific business purposes - and will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your written request.  It is the policy of Cape Cod 5 to use customer information to protect and administer customer records, accounts and funds. Customer information is used to help design or improve our products and services, and to understand the financial needs and to provide quality products and outstanding service. The Bank must also collect, and share, certain information to comply with certain laws and regulations. This includes responding to civil, criminal, or regulatory lawsuits, subpoenas, or investigations, resolving complaints, compliance activities, and otherwise operating, managing, and maintaining our business. When you enroll in or interact with our Online services, such as our website or mobile application(s) (“mobile apps”), we may collect:

  • Identity data such as email address, phone number, Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • Financial data such as account number, account name, account balance, transactions
  • Device data such as device type, web browser version, operating system type and version, location (while using to provide nearby Cape Cod 5 Banking Center locations and/or ATMs), photos (to facilitate mobile deposits and/or transaction attachments), device contacts (to facilitate Zelle payments)

Information Deletion Requests

If we’re required to delete your information due to state or federal law, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you can request that we do so by contacting us at 888-225-4636. Some information will be retained to continue serving your relationship with us, or for the purposes of security, fraud prevention and/or regulatory compliance.

Use of Cookies

To provide better service and a more effective website, we use "cookies" as part of our interaction with your browser. A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your hard drive by our webpage server. These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information, and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to determine who you are or your email address.

Online & Mobile Banking and Bill Pay

Use of Online & Mobile Banking or Cape Cod 5 Bill Pay will require Cape Cod 5 to disclose personal information to third parties that assist in delivering these services. This information, outlined above in the Use, Collection, Sharing and Retention of Information section, is retained by Cape Cod 5 or the Bank's designated third parties in order to provide the customer with the requested service.

Secure Messaging

Secure Messaging is a secure form of communication located within Online & Mobile Banking, which requires a User ID and password to access. The Bank will retain a copy of all Secure Messaging correspondence (including our response) in order to handle any follow-up questions the customer may have.


Do not send confidential information to the Bank via email. Confidential information should only be disclosed using Secure Messaging, calling Cape Cod 5 or by regular mail.

Maintaining Accurate Information

The Bank is required by law to have procedures in place to ensure that customer financial information and history is accurate, current and complete. The Bank will not furnish information relating to a customer to any consumer reporting agency if we know or consciously avoid knowing that the information is inaccurate.

Limiting Employee Access to Information

Employee access to personally identifiable information is limited to those employees with a business reason to know such information about our customers. Bank management is directed to take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

Security Procedures to Protect Information

Bank management is directed to maintain security standards and procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential information about customers. The Bank will update and test the technology on an ongoing basis to ensure the protection and integrity of customer information.
Cape Cod 5 offers Online & Mobile Banking and Bill Pay services to our customers. These services are accessed through an authentication process, which requires two codes, a User ID and password. Our security measures rely in part on these codes remaining confidential. Please do not share these codes or other personal identifiers with others.

Financial Aggregator Sites. Certain eCommerce sites may offer to provide services to you by accessing your accounts through our site. Cape Cod 5 cannot guarantee the security of your account when you allow third parties to access your accounts. Please use caution when using financial aggregator sites. NEVER PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO A SITE THAT YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE AND FULLY TRUST.

YOU SHOULD KNOW: ALL transactions initiated by an aggregator site using access information you provided are considered to be authorized by you, whether or not you were aware of the specific transaction. You may revoke this authority only by notifying us in writing, and we may need to block your account until we issue new access codes.

Restrictions on Disclosing Information to Parties Other Than Affiliated Banks and Companies

We respect the rights of privacy of all natural persons. The Bank will not reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties other than affiliated banks and companies for their independent use unless:

  • The customer requests or authorizes it.
  • The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by the customer.
  • The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency.
  • The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required.
