More about Educational Mini-Grants

Educational Mini-Grants are grants for amounts up to $500 given to local public school teachers to fund educational projects. Last year, 89 grants were awarded totaling approximately $40,000 to 109 teachers at 44 schools in our communities.

Criteria
Teachers throughout Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester, Wareham and Plymouth who are employed as a classroom instructor at any public school are eligible to apply.
Projects must be related to the subject or curriculum taught by the applicant and should be designed to have a broad impact – for an entire class, classes or grade level, or a large subset of students throughout the school as opposed to a small, select group of students. Submissions that foster creative thinking, demonstrate imagination, are reproducible and/or impact many students will be favored.
Application Process
The 2019 application period began in September and closed on October 28. The next grant cycle will open in the Fall of 2020. Applications are evaluated each year with a fresh perspective. Previous year’s applicants are encouraged to apply with your new and innovative projects.
Selection Process
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of December, and grants are distributed at a special reception to be held in early 2020. This reception also serves as an opportunity for the K-12 public education community to join together as we seek to encourage the sharing of ideas and best practices.
