Laura NewsteadHyannis, MA – Cape Cod 5 recently announced that Laura Newstead, Chief Human Resources Officer, has been promoted to First Executive Vice President. In her role, Laura oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent management, learning & development, and benefits & compensation programs. She has also built Cape Cod 5’s nationally recognized summer intern program, hiring more than 50 interns each summer and introducing them to a career in banking with a full program of personal and professional development initiatives.

Laura is actively involved in the community, banking industry and field of human resources. She serves as vice chair of the board of Cape Cod Community College, a member of the board of Calmer Choice, a member of the Cape Cod Chamber’s early education and child care taskforce, a member of the Massachusetts Bankers Association’s Women in Banking committee, and chairs the American Bankers Association’s Professional Development Council Advisory Board. 

Laura earned her PhD in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Science Administration in Human Resources from Central Michigan University.  Additionally, Laura holds the following professional designations: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and the Society of Human Resources Management-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
