Why are we making this change?
Business accounts have different security, access and money-movement needs than personal accounts. Moving your business to Business Online Banking helps provide an online experience designed around those needs.
Among its benefits, Business Online Banking provides:
- Enhanced security and authentication designed to help protect access to your business accounts.
- Greater control over account access, including the ability to establish additional users and determine which accounts and functions they can access.
- Business-specific tools for managing transactions, payments, reporting and more.
- Secure Conversations that allow you to communicate with Cape Cod 5 through Online and Mobile Banking.
- Opportunities to add other business services as your needs evolve, including ACH, wire transfers, Positive Pay and enhanced reporting.
Your business owner will initially be established as the administrator for Business Online Banking. If another individual should serve as your organization’s administrator, please contact us so we can assist.
What you need to know about the Transition
Some information and preferences will carry over to Business Online Banking, while others will need to be established again. We’ve outlined the most important changes below so you can prepare.
Your Username and Password Will Change
- Your existing consumer Online Banking username and password will not transfer to Business Online Banking.
- You will receive information from Cape Cod 5 about accessing Business Online Banking for the first time.
When you first log in:
- You will use the new username and temporary password provided as part of your transition instructions.
- You will be prompted to create a new password.
- You will set up two-factor authentication.
Two-Factor Authentication
Business Online Banking uses authentication options designed to provide an added layer of protection for your business. Available authentication methods include options such as an authenticator application or supported security credential. Text message and telephone-call authentication will not be available for this Business Online Banking login.
Tip: If you do not already use an authenticator app, consider downloading and setting one up before the transition date.

Your Dashboard Will Need to be Customized Again
Your existing Online Banking dashboard preferences will not transfer. When you first log in, you can organize your new Business Online Banking dashboard based on how you use your accounts. You can:
- Add, remove or reorder dashboard cards.
- Reorder your accounts.
- Select different ways to display account information.
- Choose the tools and information most important to your business.
Think of your first login as an opportunity to set up your workspace around the way you manage your business today.
Previously Hidden Accounts May Appear
Account display preferences from consumer Online Banking will not transfer to the new platform. If you previously chose to hide an eligible account from your Online Banking view, review your account display settings after you log in to Business Online Banking and make any desired changes.
Historical Statements Will Remain Available
Your available historical account statements will continue to be accessible following the transition. Your existing eStatement enrollment will also remain in place, so you will not need to re-enroll solely because of this conversion. After your transition, you’ll access statements through the Documents area of Business Online Banking.
Transaction History Will Be Different
The transaction history available immediately following the transition will be limited to the history available from Cape Cod 5’s core banking system. If you rely on older Online Banking transaction history for bookkeeping or reconciliation, we recommend downloading any information you may need before October 31. Business Online Banking also allows you to search your available transaction activity and download transaction information in several formats for your records.
Alerts Will Need to Be Set Up Again
Alerts you created in consumer Online Banking will not transfer. After you log in to Business Online Banking, review the available alert options and establish the notifications that are most helpful for your organization. Business Online Banking provides alerts for activity such as account balances and transactions, as well as additional security and business activity depending on the services you use.
Remote Deposit Will Require Re-enrollment
If you currently use Remote Deposit Capture, you will need to re-enroll following the transition before making your next mobile deposit. If interested in learning more about options for remote deposit for your business, please reach out to [email protected] so that we can assist you.

External Transfers Will Be Different
The External Transfers functionality currently available through consumer Online Banking will not be available in the same form in Business Online Banking. If your business regularly transfers funds between Cape Cod 5 and accounts held at other financial institutions, please contact our Treasury Management team to discuss available options and determine the best solution for your business needs.
Bill Pay Will Look Different
Bill Pay will remain available, including your scheduled payments & payees, but the experience and navigation will look different in Business Online Banking. From Business Online Banking, you’ll be able to manage payees, make individual or multiple payments, and schedule eligible future or recurring payments.

What is Staying the Same?
While your online banking experience is changing, several important items will remain in place.
| Your eStatement enrollment | If you currently receive eligible statements electronically, your enrollment will continue. You will not need to sign up again solely because of this transition. |
| Your historical statements | Previously available statements will continue to be accessible through Business Online Banking. |
| Your scheduled transfers | Scheduled and/or recurring transfers you’ve set up to move money between your Cape Cod 5 accounts will continue to exist and process as expected. |
| Your account display names | Account display names you have established in consumer Online Banking will remain in place to ensure you can easily identify your accounts. |
| Secure Conversations | Business Online Banking gives you a secure way to communicate with Cape Cod 5 through Conversations. You can send a secure message, attach documents and, when applicable, include account, transaction or payment details with your conversation – helping keep your business banking communications organized in one place. |
| The Cape Cod 5 team supporting your business | We’ll continue to be here to assist you throughout the transition and after you begin using Business Online Banking. |
More Tools for Managing your Business
One of the benefits of moving to Business Online Banking is that your digital banking experience can better grow with the needs of your business.
Add Additional Users
Instead of sharing login credentials, your Business Online Banking administrator can establish separate users and control the access appropriate for each person. Depending on your organization’s setup, users can be given access to specific accounts and features, while permissions can be customized to reflect their responsibilities. Available user roles include:
- Administrator: Can be given account and feature permissions and can manage other users.
- User: Can be given customized account and feature permissions without the ability to manage other users.
- Viewer: Provides view-only access to designated accounts.
This can be especially helpful for organizations where multiple employees, bookkeepers, accountants, officers or board members need different levels of access.
Enhanced Reporting
Business Online Banking provides additional tools to help you review and manage account activity, including current-day, prior-day, account activity and summary reporting. Depending on the services used by your business, additional reporting may also be available.
Additional Treasury Management Services
As your organization’s needs evolve, Business Online Banking can also support additional services such as:
- ACH Payments - Make secure electronic payments for needs such as payroll, taxes and vendor payments.
- Wire Transfers - Initiate and track eligible wire transfers through Business Online Banking.
- Positive Pay - Add another layer of protection against check and ACH fraud by reviewing transactions that require a decision before they are paid.
- Additional Reporting - Access business-focused reporting tools to help monitor activity, support reconciliation and better understand cash flow.
Some services require separate enrollment and may be subject to eligibility, agreements or fees. Our Treasury Management team can help you determine which tools may be right for your business.
Tap2Local – Coming Soon
Business Online Banking will also provide a foundation for additional business capabilities as they become available. Tap2Local is coming soon, providing another way for eligible businesses to accept card payments, right from within the Cape Cod 5 Mobile App. More information will be shared as this service becomes available.
