As part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 which was signed into law on Thursday, March 11, 2021 - the federal government will begin electronically disbursing a third round of Economic Impact Payments (EIP or “stimulus” payments) via direct deposit on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Eligible EIP recipients will receive their payment electronically via ACH, or will be
mailed either a paper check or prepaid debit card via
the U.S. Postal Service over the next several weeks.

The IRS portal is expected to be available on Monday, March 15. Please note that Cape Cod 5 does not have access to information regarding how individuals’ EIP payments are calculated nor do we have information as to when specific payment will be received.
All information currently available about the status, eligibility, amount and delivery of payments can be found on the IRS website at the following links. The US Treasury will be treating these payments as if they were tax refunds with all the accompanying rules.
