Every year, Cape Cod 5 provides thousands of dollars in mini-grants to fund educational projects to public school teachers in the communities we serve. Since its inception in 2000, more than 1,000 mini-grants, totaling over $490,000, have been awarded.


Educational Mini-Grants are grants for amounts up to $500 given to local public school teachers to fund educational projects. Last year, 87 grants were awarded totaling approximately $40,000 to 106 teachers at 47 schools in our communities.

This year, we recognize the added challenges that the pandemic has created. We will be adjusting criteria accordingly and taking that into consideration when reviewing applications for Mini-Grants. 
Teachers throughout Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester, Wareham and Plymouth who are employed as a classroom instructor at any public school are eligible to apply.
Traditionally, we have prioritized imaginative projects that foster creative thinking and have broad impact. We understand that this year is very different from past years, and will be using more flexible criteria in considering applications.
Application Process
The 2020 application period has now closed, as of December 1, 2020. Applications are evaluated each year with a fresh perspective. Previous year’s applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply again.
Selection Process
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of December, and grants will be distributed in early 2021.
