How do I add my Cape Cod 5 debit card to my digital wallet?

You can add your Cape Cod 5 debit card in one of two ways:

  • Log in to Cape Cod 5 Mobile Banking, select your eligible debit card and choose “Add to Digital Wallet.” Follow the prompts to complete setup in Apple Pay®, Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet®.
  • Open the Apple Wallet, Google Pay or Samsung Pay application on your device and choose the "add card" option. At the next screen, hold the card near your mobile device to auto-capture your card information.
    • After accepting the Terms & Conditions, the next step is an authentication process for which there are three options: one-time passcode via text message, one-time passcode via email or calling the Bank to verify.
    • Only phone numbers and email addresses on file with the Bank are used in this process.                                
Can I still manually add my card in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet?

Yes, you can add your Cape Cod 5 debit card directly in Digital Wallet by choosing the “add card” option and auto-capturing your card’s information by holding the card near your mobile device. There are added security layers through adding your card through Mobile Banking. You will no longer be able to add your card to the Digital Wallet by manually entering the information or taking a picture of the card.

Eligible Cape Cod 5 Visa® Debit Cards can be added to:

  • Apple Pay®
  • Google Wallet
  • Samsung Wallet®
How do I know if a merchant accepts a digital payment?

Look for the contactless payment symbol or Apple Pay®, Google Wallet  or Samsung Wallet® logos at checkout.

Will merchants see my card number?

No. Your physical card number is not shared with merchants. A unique digital token is used instead.

Is there a fee to use digital payments?

No. Cape Cod 5 does not charge a fee to add your card to a digital wallet.

What happens if I get a new debit card?

In many cases, your digital wallet may update automatically. If your card does not update, remove the old card from your wallet and re-add the new card through Mobile Banking.  

When you add your card directly from Mobile Banking, you can use your card even before you have it in-hand. You will then still need to activate the physical card upon receipt, which is an important layer of security to protect your account. 

What if my phone is lost or stolen?
  • Act quickly to lock the device and disable access to your digital wallet. Log into your wallet account (e.g. Apple/iCloud or Google) on another device and mark your phone as lost, which will lock the device and suspend your digital wallet.
  • Monitor your accounts and report any transactions you do not recognize to Cape Cod 5 or your other card issuers. 
Can I add my card to more than one device?

Yes. You can add your eligible card to multiple supported devices. 

Can I still use my physical debit card?

Yes. Your physical card will continue to work normally.

Can I use digital payments for online or in-app purchases?

Yes. You can use Apple Pay®, Google Wallet  or Samsung Wallet® anywhere those payment methods are accepted online or within apps.

Why do I need to verify my card?

Verification helps protect against unauthorized use and confirms that you are the cardholder.
